Abstract:

The article analyzes the structure of EU energy law, including the provisions of primary and secondary law, as well as the European Energy Charter. The author concluded that energy has become the basis of European integration and stated that the main components of the EU´s energy activities in achieving these goals are: energy conservation; an active renewable energy policy; more efficient energy and gas markets; diversification, cooperation at the international level. Finally, it is shown that the active formation of the EU energy policy as a tool for ensuring the collective interests of the EU countries is currently taking place.
