Abstract:

The article emphasizes the international legal position of States expressed, for example, in their constitutional instruments or in accepted international obligations under treaties and/or within the framework of international organizations. The author analyses the sources of such a position in Russia: the Declaration on State Sovereignty of the RSFSR of 1990, the Constitution of the Russian Federation of 1993, the Federal Law "On International Treaties of the Russian Federation" of 1995, the Concept of Foreign Policy of Russia of 2016. The final conclusion: the number of factors affecting the international legal position of the state is large. The fewer conflicts between national jurisdictions, the more attention paid to compliance with international obligations, the more effective integration into the global legal system would be for such a country.

Keywords: International obligations, inter-state associations, international recognition, ratification, national security strategy
