The grassroots of Europeanization go back to ancient times, when territorial conflicts were a natural manifestation of the foreign policy of states that achieved high economic, scientific and technological development. European Emperors, on the basis of innovative international documents, implemented the unification of trade relations, and also conducted an active diplomatic program to separate from religious influence. The article indicates that the main form of interaction between European countries was conferences at which the results of military conflicts were summed up - territorial issues, trade and economic transactions and other key foreign policy points. The author concludes that the direct consequence of the above activities is the integration of European states, including in the form of the formation of intergovernmental organizations. At the same time, the territorial issue remains the most difficult, since European borders are not adequately fixed and legally protected.
