Abstract:

The article contains an analysis of Art. 79 of the Constitution of the Russian Federation, which states that the Russian Federation can participate in interstate associations and transfer to them part of its powers in accordance with international treaties. The author emphasizes that to realize its geopolitical interests, the Russian Federation can be part of interstate associations of various levels, which has long been used and was both the founder and invited subject of international intergovernmental organizations. At the same time, in addition to the widely discussed economic effectiveness of cooperation between the Russian Federation and various types of interstate associations, the legal consequences of agreements concluded under their auspices should be carefully assessed.
