Abstract:

The article explores the concept and essence of extradition. In accordance with modern international legal standards, extradition is a type of legal assistance carried out by subjects of international law at the request or request of competent authorities, including the extradition of accused and convicted persons for the purpose of criminal prosecution or serving a sentence on the basis of international law and domestic law. The author concludes that it is the institution of extradition that creates the necessary conditions for bringing the perpetrators of criminal acts to justice and plays a key role in ensuring the inescapability of punishment.
