Резюме:

The path of nations to self-determination is always thorny and an achievement in this regard is the consolidation of the corresponding right in the UN Charter and other acts of global importance. The article justifies the status of Abkhazia as a territory of an original people, legally equal to others officially recognized. Having personal and professional experience in the field of formalizing the right of the people to self-determination, the author consistently sets out arguments in favor of the uniqueness of the Abkhaz, including in the context of the originality of their status in Georgia. The conclusions of the study make it possible to assert that there is a solution to the conflict with the legal position of the Republic of Abkhazia, but the ongoing process of ignoring it by the world community.
